Festivals and Holidays

    If you can arrange your travel around some of the festivals and holidays in Yunnan you will find it will add much to your travel experience. Celebrations fall into a few main categories: Religious Festivals like the Water Slashing Festival in Xishuangbanna, Festivals of commemoration like the Torch Festival celebrating seasonal changes and Agriculture and Festivals revolving around social activities and entertainment. Our personal favorites in term of visual interest and pure fun are the Water Splashing Festival, The Torch Festival, The Sword Festival and the Munao Festival.
